Oh, the trees!

We went camping only twice this summer which is definitely not enough! Maybe we will go again before it gets too cool up here in Western Oregon.

These are some pictures I took of all the beauty I get to soak up when camping at Sean's family's campsite in Lyons! It really is breathtaking!

Ok. When did TJ Maxx get all these amazing dresses? I went there the other day and found two dresses I absolutely adored, and considering I'm a VERY picky shopper, that is a big deal. Anyways, the other night we went on a walk around campus and did some nighttime shots, so please excuse the lighting if it bothers you. Campus has a lot of interesting places to take photos that I have never really considered. I guess after four years of seeing the place everyday I overlooked it's beauty.

The weather here in Oregon is starting to cool down; what a relief, however I can still get away with going out without a sweater. 

I forgot to take better shots of my shoes, but I promise they're really cute (grey oxfords!). Oh well, another time.

Glow in the dark bubbles....kind of

Hey guys, its been a while. Oh hey, I'm twenty two now. Just had my birthday and like always I'm wondering where the time has gone, the years, this summer even has blown by.

I'm still on the job hunt. Excuse me, career hunt. They tell you that a college degree will get you a good job, well I've learned it takes a bit more than that. Still stuck in Corvallis, but God, I do love this tiny town. Its no big city but it still is so darn pretty! Tonight Sean and I went to the campus to take some outfit photos and it made me kind of sad not being a student anymore!

Awhile ago Sean acquired some glow-in-the-dark bubbles and we took them out the other night to see how they worked. Well, in all honesty, they didn't! The bubble solution glowed a bit like a glow stick, but the actual bubbles looked just like normal bubbles. In the end, we ended up having more fun with the light-up bubble wand it came with!

Oh my, what another hot day here in Corvallis! I love this summer weather but deep down inside I am secretly ready for fall to be here. The layers and pea-coats get me all excited for new outfit possibilities and combinations. 

While typing out what I wore I looked at the clash of brands and stores each piece in this outfit came from. It really goes to show that you do not need to limit your style to shopping at certain stores; it is all about what speaks to you. I have never been one to follow 'scenes' and have gotten flack for shopping at both Hot Topic and Abercrombie & Fitch- but I really don't care where I get my clothes. If I like something, I get it. This simple summer outfit exemplifies this.

The hottest day of the year & The White Eagle

So, I am not the best clothing packer when it comes to vacations. I usually way over-pack, under-pack or pack the wrong type of clothing. Well, this trip I packed perfectly! Light and right! The fourth of August was definitely the hottest day of the year, maybe of my LIFE reaching 103 degrees in Portland.

Can you tell how sweaty I was?!

Unfortunately, our hotel room was not air conditioned, (understandably, because it dated back to the early 1900's and left mostly original) but luckily we were out on the town most of the day. We really enjoyed our stay here, the saloon atmosphere and antique features were so fun!

Day Tripping: Portland, Oregon

For Sean's birthday weekend I surprised him with a trip to his hometown of Portland, Oregon. We visited some of his favorite spots including the vegan  mini-mall, Hawthorne Boulevard and the Wunderland nickel arcade.

 We stayed at The White Eagle, which is a saloon owned by Mcmenamins, with European-style rooms upstairs.... and supposedly haunted! We didn't see any ghosts but enjoyed our stay, each of the rooms are themed after famous songs (its a "rock 'n roll" hotel after all!) and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning enjoying good company and live music both nights.

 After returning back to Corvallis on Sunday, we picked up the dogs and met Sean's parents and sister up at their campsite in Lyons. I really love that place, it is so peaceful and quiet because it is privately owned- and the dogs had a blast too!

Defying Color

I love black and white. Even in the summer it is basically all I wear. Bambi is finally in Corvallis now! Her and Opal have some bonding to do so today we went on a walk through MLK park.

I have been MIA because I've been on vacation (yay vacation!)! I went up to visit my family and then to Disneyland with my mother! I will share some of those goodies soon! How is your summer going?
