Puppy Portraits

This week I was the MOST sick I have ever been in my life! I almost did not get some pictures because I could not get out of bed. So I photographed one thing that was always by my side: Opal! And I tell you, do I catch her in some awkward positions.

28. Chewing 29. Melding in to Sean 30. This was a "so sick, just take a photo quick!" moment
31. Somehow managed to lay behind the pillows 32. Sitting pretty on the ottoman. If her tush fits she sits
33. Mom needs to trim her nails 34. Waiting for me when I got home

Indoors & Out

21. Hike in the frozen forest 22. Bookshelves with some of my favorite reads 23. Doodles 24. Found this awesome coupon (from 1990!) in a recently purchased book 25. The camera I shoot with: Nikon 1 26. Cant stop taking photos of Christmas lights! 27. Taking care of my sick boy and practicing portraits.

This week was a bit bleh. Monday we went on a wonderful (freezing) hike in McDonald forest and I took a ton of photos, but the rest of the week was filled with work, getting home late and taking care of a very ill boy.

Practicing.

14. Trying (and quickly loosing patience with) birdwatching. Thats why I could only get this guys little backside 15. A perfect little lunch date after work 16. Layers of winter 17. Left-over Christmas decorations
18. Foggy night 19. Making "Chik'n" & Dumplings (a new favorite!) 20. Self-portrait

So this week I have been practicing shooting. I took a ton more photos this week than I did last week, and I can't really see improvement yet but hey, its only January 20th!

Keep on truckin

7. Discoveries on our walk 8. Boyfriend trying to cheer me up 9. Wording 10. Feeling ill at work and keeping hydrated 11. The frost covering eveything! 12. The skies parting on a cloudy day.
13. Opal, today, playing with a pumpkin. She never ceases to amaze me.

This week has been a bit of a bummer. I have been working every day, and seem to be catching the flu, but these photos make me remember the little moments that keep me going. :)

A New Year Refreshed and Clear

This year I am starting my very first ever 365 photo project. I have never done one before, but I am optimistic because I am not pressuring myself to take great photos, or setting limits or themes. Simply taking a photo a day, and posting them. Here is week one of my 2013!

1. A lazy first  day of the year (hungover) reading. 2. Starting off the new year trying new things! A Spanish Coffee from Mcmenamins. 3. Working on a long-neglected craft project. 4. Walking with three of my favorite things: my boyfriend, my pup and a Starbucks latte. 5. Winner-winner chili dinner! 6. Working all day 'til the streetlights turn on.

note: I realize this is only six days. I want to post every Sunday, and the New Year was on a Tuesday, therefore only six posts this week. :)

Falling

Skirt:: Thrifted
Shoes:: Payless
Sunglasses:: Rayban

Photos:: Sean Carlson
It's almost here....FALL! Whoopee! Finally it has cooled down enough to wear long sleeves and thicker layers. I have been waiting a long time to wear this outfit combo because it has just been too darn hot around here. Both the skirt and the blouse are really thick and heavy fabrics so it definitely wasn't justifiable to wear during summer. The colors are perfect for fall too.

The only downside of fall is back to school. Now that I have graduated I have become pretty depressed about never going back to school again. I could always go to graduate school, and I might some day, but for now its just not financially possible. I really miss school; the classrooms, the note-taking, the outfit planning. It all sounds a bit silly typing it out but I really do miss these things!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend and school goes well for those who are still attending!
