Today the Boy and I went to a volunteer orientation at our local humane society. We are both huge animal lovers and decided this would be a great way to spend the summer.
Do you do any volunteer or community in service work?

Summer Day 13: Its a...
Okay so we still don't know for sure the sex of baby bird but we do have a name now!
Introducing:
Tiny Dancer.
So in case you haven't read my earlier entry Summer Day 1, I am taking at least one picture a day and blogging about each day of summer. I hope that this way I will feel a sense of accomplishment and to also feel like the summer doesn't just fly by like it usually does. Its Day 13 already! Sheesh. A lot of blogging and a lot of adventures.

things i love thursdays
I thought I would fancy things up around here and do my very own tilt this week! Here we go...
family. I ventured up north to Mukilteo to visit my family after quite a few months without seeing them. Its a chaotic house with 5 children and 3 dogs but my mama and papa are still truckin. As cliche as it sounds I never want to take my family for granted.

doves. Last summer I was fortunate enough to foster and adopt two special needs ringneck doves from a avian rescue in Albany, OR. Earlier this spring I became a grandmother to that beautiful baby up there who still remains unnamed. (we refer to him/her as Baby Dove.) The other two are named Cyndi Lauper and Freddie Mercury.

my hairbrush. About a year ago I bought this really amazing BASS brush that is made out of bamboo (even the bristles!) and ZOMG it is really amazing. My hair gets really wild and tangly and I haven't had a bristle break on me yet. I love the look and feel of this brush and highly recommend it.
until next time my fellow fingernails-

Randoms: Baby and Disney and Sorry!
Hello, first of all look at my baby dove

This is a picture of him when he was three days old (hes a lot bigger now now that hes three weeks old!) I say 'he' but I really don't know the sex yet- so its also nameless. We have just been calling it baby.

Soon I will post some more current pictures- Baby now has feathers and makes cute peeping noises! Birds grow amazingly fast.
It hatched on March 11th and Boy did such a great job taking care of it (and my other doves) while I was away at Disneyland for spring break!
Speaking of which- I have been away at Disneyland for spring break- hence my absence from everywhere on the internet. I look lots of fun pictures though and I cannot wait to put them up here.
And also, my internet at my house is on hiatus- another bump in the road- but should be back up and running by Friday!
Whirlwind; this life is.
Peace, Love & (A)-
Chey
