Summer Day 31: SinisterPDX

I think I have an ear infection.

My ear hurts.

My Boy is so crafty and adorable. He loves making steampunk guns and toying around with metal-working.
This is his first completed gun which is for sale now on Etsy. He makes pretty much everything with recycled and re-purposed materials.
This is a really neat pendant he recently made out of scrap. We are such a crafty little pair! Its great living in an household where we can motivate each other to be creative.

Summer Day 28: My favorite crafts

Today I thought I would share a few of my favorite crafting items as I venture along on a new hair clip!

felt. I love felt and always keep lots on-hand.

kid's scissors and floss. I use kid's scissors for my smaller crafts- they are so sharp and precise.
Floss is great as I am teaching myself to embroider!

martha stewart glitter. I LOVE ALL of Martha Stewart's glitter, tinsel and "microbeads". Such great textures and colors!

mod podge. While I hate the smell, it is good for lots of things!
I will update this post with my hairpiece when it is all finished!

Summer Day 2: Craft

angry bird plush.I was feeling a bit crafty a while ago and decided to play off of my love of Angry Birds and make this little sucker.

I'm not going to go all tutorial on you but basically what I did was follow a ball pattern for the body, inverted it and filled it with batting (I sewed the whole thing by hand), two triangles for the beak, and basically winged (no pun intended) the feathers at the head and tail. Sewing the beak on was the hardest part honestly, it was hard keeping it in place while sewing it onto the spherical body.
And I ran out of red thread in the process!

Anyhew, I am no professional crafter AT ALL so it looks a little homemade, but I like it and so does my sister whom I gave it to. My next project is one of the pigs!

Summer craft'n is fun!
