You Should Listen to...
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. In my opinion, CYHSY is the OG indie band of our time. This east-coast based band has been a prominent figure in indie music, at least in my mind, since 2005, and their latest album Hysterical puts emphasis on their ability to maintain a true DIY independent foundation. Their third album was self-released in September of this year, ending the long-awaited gap since CYHSY's last release in 2007.
Earlier this fall I had the opportunity to edit an interview my boss conducted with Sean Greenhalgh, reinforcing the band's humble demeanor and artistic drive. So, I decided this album would be the prefect one to be my first album review on the oBitchuaries!
It is really a turn-on for me when bands open up their album with a tremendous first track, laying down the law for the rest of the set, and Clap Your Hands does just that. Same Mistake is not so much representative of a new Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, but rather a rejuvenation or revitalized one, after a four year wait, and is a great way to kick off Hysterical. The energizing dance beat continues with the next track Hyesterical, which given its name, seems to be the most developed and memorable song out of the 12 tracks.
In all honesty, I used to have a hard time listening to some CYHSY because of the wild and often nonsensical vocals, but on this album, which seems to be slightly refined (in a good way!) is a easy and quite enjoyable listen. Sometimes I think "damn, this band is too good to be American" This is one of those bands.
Hysterical is dynamic, full, and vibrant. With bright tracks such as Misspent Youth, I suggest a nice pair of headphones for ultimate listening. Go. Listen. Now!

In the Frosty Air
The other day was the prefect day for a nature walk. It was freaking cold but just moist enough for mushrooms! I used to photograph mushrooms a lot and did some spore prints, but because of the summer weather I lost touch with it. This day I only photographed some ( my puppy was making things a bit difficult) but I plan to pick a few next time there is ideal weather.
Everything had a frosty glaze over it, even the spider webs looked like strings of glitter. I love how beautiful winter is, I just wish it wasn't so damned cold!
I do not condone randomly picking up any mushroom, unless you have some experience with them. Always wash your hands thoroughly after and never ever eat them!

HELLO? (ECHOS & CRICKETS)
I obviously have not been keeping up with my blogging. I am going to use the excuse of work and school has taken over my life.
And in all honesty it is not an excuse: it is the absolute truth. Not only am I a full-time student trying to get 'er done as a senior, but I am working two highly demanding jobs, raising a hellion of a puppy and trying to keep our little family from becoming completely disfunctional.
A lot has happened in my personal life that I cannot explain this fall & winter. And even after my summer blogging extravigansa I still feel like I took summer for granted once again.
This school term might literally just be killing me. I am on campus 40+ hours a week and then working or cleaning the time that I am actually at home! aka no time for blogs.
However...dun dun dun...... I have not given up. Sometime when this term is over. I have some fun goodies to share with you all. Im inspired but just too tired right now. Also, this blog needs a makeover.
stay tuned in!

Work it: What I wore today.
Hello All! Hope the end of August went well for you all! After my birthday on August 14th I have been focused on work, adventures and well- relaxing! Its been awesome, but I honestly cannot wait until school is back in session. I will be a senior!
Isnt the pattern of this dress wicked?!
Anyways, here is what I wore today. Dress look familiar? I also wore it to crystal castles- and possibly is featured other places on this blog. Probably because it is one of my favorites. it fits me like a vintage glove!

A Day Out on the Town & I'm Going To Be Out of Town
So I am leaving town for the rest of the week headed for Seattle for my 21st birthday and the Seattle Tattoo Expo! Then on to Portland for my birthday celebration. So keep up the awesome blogs while I'm gone!
Here is an outfit I wore last week downtown at the park I love simplicity (and black haha!). I know I wear my Ray Bans all of the time- they are my favorite pair of sunglasses and I have had them forever!

What Shoes Should I Wear!?
My birthday is coming up on Sunday and I have the dress I want to wear but cannot find the right shoes. I will be going out to dinner and bar hopping so stilettos and platforms are out. But I need something that will not make me look short! Plain ballet flats seem to cut my feet off and make my legs look extra short! Any suggestions?
I'm thinking maybe my black gladiator-type sandals? Y/N?

Im not dead I swear!
So as you may have noticed I took a long and unexpected leave of absence from MLL. It was a well needed timeout where I had to take care of myself. As you can also tell I have discontinued my summer posts as I have found it to be turning into quite the monster- I would rather focus my blogging on inspiring and more well polished posts instead. Quality over quantity.
During my vacation from blogging I have had a few meltdowns, some birthdays and two camping trips. Not to mention antiquing and A LOT of outfits! Luckily I never stopped taking pictures so I will have some things to share with you all.
I WILL be posting more often from now on- my break was refreshing. And also reading all of your lovely blogs! So thank you to those who continue to read, comment, and follow!
Here is one of my casual outfits on a hot day last week featuring my favorite shorts I mentioned a while ago!
The ring I was wearing if you don't recognize it is Kat Von D's solid perfume ring with her fragrance Saint and Sinner. Its Fracking HUGE! I love all of Kat Von D's products. I use the tattoo liner to do dramatic and precise cat eyes that don't smudge or crackle like some liquid eyeliners. I also love her eyeshadow and of course my signature fragrance Sinner!
